Some of the more cheaper ways to improve performance would be exhaust, something along the lines of headers and cat-back exhaust. You can find relatively inexpensive cat-back exhaust systems that are easy to install. Another good way to make more power is air intake. A simple K&N air filter change, or complete air intake change would help boost performance, and is a cheap and easy start to building horsepower. Once both intake and exhaust systems are upgraded, you may want to look into a good power programmer or computer "chip" that will allow you to bump up ignition timing and fuel flow, but unless you have made other changes first it won't do you much good. A false beliefe is if you simply plug a "chip" into the computer, you will gain horsepower, but really you need to upgrade other aspects of the car before the "chip" will really make a difference. Hopefully this helps some, and if you need help just let us know.
